PDFThe High Place (“bamah” in Hebrew) is a location on a mountain or hilltop where worship and sacrifice is made. Abraham built the first altar after the flood in a high place. (Genesis 8:20). Moses met God at the top of Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments and later encountered God on the mountaintop after praying – “Show Me Your Glory”. God sent fire at MOUNT Carmel on Elijah’s sacrifice. Jacob had his dream (Jacob’s Ladder) on the altar at the hilltop of Bethel which his grandfather had built years ago. (Genesis 12:7-8). Throughout history, the High Place has always been a battleground. It is a place of dominion – the ones that have possessed the high place have determined the type of worship that would take place which would ultimately determine whether a generation followed Yahweh God or the gods of Baal, Chemosh, and Molech.
In this day, God is bringing fresh revelation to the Church about the importance of taking possession of the High Places in our land. The enemy has tried his best to set up his altar on every physical hill (I Kings 14:23) and in every mountain of society, but the Lord is raising up Josiahs in this hour to purge the high places and destroy the altars that have been established by the enemy. (2 Chronicles 34:3-5). It is through this cleansing that TRUE WORSHIP can be established again in its proper place (2 Chronicles 34:8).
As the ROOT 52 Initiative comes to California (for more information on ROOT 52 go to: http://www.rpnca.org/ or http://www.generals.org/prayer/rpn/root-52/) – we have designated a night to RECLAIM THE HIGH PLACES in our State! We are calling believers in each of the 58 counties to convene at a high place on Sunday, August 15th @ 7pm to simultaneously tear down the altars of Baal and to release True Worship back into our land!! We believe this is going to be a historic night that will be instrumental in purging our land and turning our State back to its covenant roots with the Lord!
